Celebrating Seuss!

We had fun celebrating Dr. Seuss last week. We read as many Dr. Seuss books as we could last week and certainly enjoyed each one. On Friday we had special Seuss stations instead of our literacy stations. During snack, we enjoyed pretend green eggs and strawberry/banana Seuss hats with goose and moose juice.

In the afternoon, we had 3rd grade visitors that read Dr. Seuss books to us. Then we made a truffala tree snack together!

Rocks Rock!

Last week, we collected rocks for sorting and classifying. It was really cold but the kids found some cool rocks very quickly! They had a blast moving through the rock study stations.

Nonfiction

We have had so much fun studying nonfiction text. This week, we checked out books from the library on topics that we are interested so that we can learn more information. After Spring Break we will begin writing our own informational texts during writers workshop!

Taking Turns

Our counselor, Mrs. Hord, stopped by last week for a guidance lesson on taking turns and playing fair. After reading a book on the topic, the kids got into groups and played Chutes and Ladders and Candyland. I was so impressed with their taking turns and playing fair with one another!
