Thank you for your help with the Harvest Celebration. 

So many of you sent in supplies, helped plan activities, and/or came to help out. I really appreciate it. 

Even when a last minute change of plans from the park to the school everything turned out wonderful! 

The kids had a blast! Your involvement is what makes it possible. 

Good Readers Use Strategies: Lips the Fish

This week we learned that when readers come to a tricky word, they can use strategies to help them figure it out.

A strategy is a tool to solve a problem. 

The first strategy we learned is "Get your mouth ready". This means that we made the sound of the initial letter in the word. This can help us think about what would make sense. 

Lips the Fish is our friend that will help us remember to use this strategy. 

Each reader received a new tool to use during readers workshop. It is a small light that can help us highlight the words we are reading OR we can use it to highlight that first letter when we are getting our mouth ready.

CSISD Transportation

 The College Station ISD Transportation Department has recently created a Twitter account to provide easily accessible information to the families they serve.

"Tweets" will be sent regarding delays and weather hazards, as well as safety tips to promote a more comfortable riding environment.

The 50th Day - 50's Style

We determined the steps for making a root beer float. Wrote them together, wrote them on our own, then made our very own floats!
