Fiddle Sticks

Have you heard about our new math game? It's called Fiddle Sticks.

Miss J Vezurk shared the idea with me and we have certainly enjoyed it.

The point of the game is to be the first player to draw all the numbered sticks from 0 to 10. The kicker is that if you draw the stick with a dot, you have to say "Fiddle Sticks!" and put all the sticks back in the can, then begin again.

It has been a great activity for thinking about number order. When the kids lay out their sticks they must put them in the correct sequence.

The game has been such a hit! The kids are asking to play all the time! 

I plan to use the structure of the game for a variety of skills.
