This week we began looking at how we can collect information and graph it.
Each morning for bellowork, we begin with a survey.
The students cast their votes by placing their namework sheet in the appropriate basket.
Then as a class, we count our votes and look at the information we have collected.
Our surveys are helping us learn new things about our class.
After completing our graphs, we ask questions such as
Which as the most?
Which has the least?
How many more?
At home, you can continue teaching how to collect information by counting the number of chairs in your house, tables, couches. Then have those same math talks that we have in class using words such as most, least, and how many more?
