This morning during readers workshop we talked about reading spots. All of the students were assigned their own special spot for independent reading. We will swap each week. Our class read all by ourselves for 5 minutes! While we were reading we looked in our books for a funny part to share. After reading, we returned to the rug to share our funny parts. We learned that books can be so much fun and can even be an adventure. We are learning to LOVE books!
Readers, Readers Everywhere!
Aren't they the most darling readers you have ever seen? Yes? I agree! :)
I shared with the students that we are working on our reading stamina.
Everyday we will work hard to read on our own for more time.

We are working hard with our names to learn more about our own names and the names of our classmates! Our shared reading this week is "Who Stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar?" We have had fun with that! We graphed how many letters are in our names and then added names to our word wall so that we can use them in our writing. In one of our literacy stations, we are matching names to pictures.
During Math Workshop, we talked about sound patterns and then began making patterns with objects. We used the math tools in our math stations to get some pattern practice. The kids were so proud of their work! And I was too!
We had a wonderful Wednesday with so many smiles! I hope your's was wonderful as well!
